TESOL / ESL Resources
TESOL Organizations.
TESOL - Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages is a global
association for English language teaching professionals. TESOL is a worldwide network of over 60,000 language
educators.
TESOL provides academic publications, books, and electronic resources on current issues, trends, and
opportunities in ELT.
IATEFL - In Europe, teachers of English can join this organization which
has a focus on teaching abroad specifically. There are also some great publications, discounts, and focus groups
(SIGs) that you can join if you are interested in particular regions of the world, or particular areas of ESL.
Agencies, Jobs and Vacancy Ads.
There are many agencies in ELT across the world, and many specialize in in-country assignments. So decide which
country or region of the world you are interested in before you start. You may also consider volunteer work with an
organization like Voluntary Services Overseas. For general jobs, visit
TEFL.net's jobs boards and Dave's ESL
Cafe. Also, look for regional forums that focus on one area of the world or even one country or
city/region.
Teaching Resources.
Bartleby's provides access to dictionaries, language
references, literature and writing guides. It's eaily one of the best reference sites on the web.
Downloadable Worksheet
standard-worksheet for homework for ESL kids.
The Internet TESL Journal - Articles, Research Papers, Lessons Plans, Classroom
Handouts, Teaching Ideas & Links. A wonderful resource for all things ESL.
Resources for Teachers and Students - ESLPartyLand - They say
"You'll find loads of ideas and printable materials to use in class here, discussion forums, and employment
opportunities." Recommended by Abby.
